Abstract

The Museum of Innocence and My Father’s Suitcase, by Orhan Pamuk, and Almost Mem­ory, by Carlos Heitor Cony, served as a motif to explore the life of Professor Paulo Emílio Ribeiro de Vilhena, in celebration of the cen­tenary of his birth. The traces left by him and kept in a repository of memorabilia help to un­derstand the way he comprehended the theory of law and the theory of individual, collective, and procedural labor law, always based on the composition of legal relationships in the inter­action between public law and private law.
