REFLEXÕES SOBRE A FUNÇÃO SOCIAL DOS PERIÓDICOS JURÍDICO-CIENTÍFICOS 10.12818/P.0304-2340.2013v62p735

Resumo

Aproveitando o ensejo do aniversário de 120 anos das duas mais antigas publicações periódicas jurídico-científicas no Brasil, a Revista da Faculdade de Direito da USP e a Revista da Faculdade de Direito da UFMG, que se cumpre respectivamente em 2013 e 2014, o presente artigo trata de analisar os objetivos que motivaram o surgimento das revistas jurídico-científicas no Brasil em contraste com o cenário atual do mercado editorial, submetido a constantes e periódicas avaliações institucionais. Intenta-se demonstrar, sem entretanto, apresentar soluções concretas, como o atual sistema de avaliação dos periódicos jurídico-científicos pode desfigurar a função social do conhecimento científico.

ABSTRACT

In the opportunity of the 120^th anniversary of the two oldest juridical scientific journals in Brazil – the Journal of the Law School of the University of São Paulo and the Journal of the Law School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais – which will be celebrated in 2013 and 2014 respectively, this paper tries to analyze the objectives that have motivated the emergence of juridical scientific journals in Brazil in contrast with the current situation of the publishing market, subjected to constant and periodic institutional reviews. The article tries to demonstrate without however presenting concrete solutions how the current evaluation system of juridical scientific journals can disfigure the social function of scientific knowledge.
