Abstract
The goal of this study is to discuss a possible existence and application of customary law regulating the use of force in international relations. Even though there is a general ban on the use of force formulated in Art.2(4) of the UN Charter, it seems prima facie that there is also some space for customary norms. This was confirmed by the ICJ in the famous Nicaragua judgement of 1984/1986.
