ABSTRACT
Postgraduate studies enable the training of
researchers, disseminators of knowledge and
a teaching career that allows representation
and social projection. Thinking about people
with disabilities (PWD) in postgraduate
studies is thinking about the possibility of
emancipation and resignification of their
social role. However, this path presents several
difficulties, so the problem that guides this
research is: under what conditions can the
dimension of otherness intrinsic to attitudinal
accessibility imply the construction of a
pedagogy of welcoming in the Brazilian
national postgraduate system? The hypothesis
is due to the insufficiency of mere insertion
without accessibility. The general research
objective is to propose a dimension of
accessibility of PWD in postgraduate studies
based on the ethics of otherness, based on
Emmanuel Lévinas. The specific objectives of
the text, which are reflected in its development
sections, are: a) to expose the dimension
of accessibility and education for PWD in postgraduate studies, with an emphasis on the
finalistic perspective of this category; and b)
formulate an ethical dimension of accessibility
to PWD in postgraduate studies based on
Emmanuel Lévinas. The methodology used is
Levinasian metaphenomenology, even using
reports from PCD. In the end, a proposal for
welcoming pedagogy was formulated.
