The objective of this work is to demonstrate how the doctrine of professor and jurist Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade contributed to the maturation of the application of provisional measures of protection within the scope of the Inter-American System of Human Rights. The type of research used was descriptive, through the method of bibliographic research and case studies. The analysis explores the circumstances in which this institute focuses with the aim of highlighting the invaluable impact of the referred measures on the international procedural practical level. The conclusion is in the sense that the provisional measures, with the purpose of preventing the delay of a decision from causing irreparable damage to Human Rights, represent an important tool for the improvement of the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court with a transcendental bias of its content.
